If you have ever tried origami activities in your speech room, I don't need to tell you what a hit they are! When my groups made Articulation Airplanes last spring, the kids were VERY eager to take the planes home and perfect their flying techniques (and hopefully practice their speech words, as well!)

With the summer heat we've had here in Missouri and the success of the paper airplanes on my mind, I was inspired to create origami boats for articulation! I remember making these paper boats as a child and playing with them in the sink. These paper boats would be a great addition to your ocean themed speech therapy units, or maybe even pirate week! Another great way to kick off the 2016-2017 school year is with turtle pages that can be used for a fun glow-in-the-dark craft, play dough mats, or coloring pages. When my students did this activity, the turtles ended up with ninja masks- imagine that! You can get the speech and language turtles from this print-and-go resource here: Glow-in-the-dark Turtles.
